We will be holding our Summer Term Open Morning at Castle Newnham Hub from 9am until 12pm.

The morning will welcome potential new students, whether they have played a musical instrument before or not, and offer them the chance to find out what SMMC is all about before signing up for September. All of our groups will be taking place as usual and new students can come along to any of them. Staff will be on hand to talk to students and parents and provide them with the information they need to get signed up for the perfect groups for them.

We look forward to another buzzing Informal concert next term which will be held at Castle Newnham Hub. 

These concerts are for anyone who has a piece ready to play, whether they have been learning for one term or ten years!!

The aim is to enjoy performing to a very friendly audience (made up of other performers and their families!)

Highlights this time included the fabulous Cople trio playing their own arrangements, Florence performing in her first EVER concert and lots of great violin playing. 

Your child’s teacher will have the information about each concert and will invite a student to play if they feel they are ready.

All we ask is that you sign up so that we know who is coming, please let your teacher know.

If you need an accompanist there will be one ready and waiting to play with you!

Each concert starts at 6.30pm and lasts for around 1 hour. We do invite everyone to stay until the end so that everyone has an audience.

Fiddle Fiestas are a wonderful way to bring together all our local young string players across a vast range of abilities and ages: from beginners to advanced, Year 3 to Year 13.

The successful format that has been delivered for over 40 years involves an afternoon rehearsal followed by a performance to family and friends at 6:30pm. String players are taught their parts by their teachers and there are rumours of K-Pop finding it’s way into the mix along with other favourites.
